Julia and Matt hosted their Minnesota Lakeside Wedding at their family home, where all their loved ones could gather and celebrate their love!
It was a rainy day, but you know that’s supposed to be good luck!? I definitely think it was for Julia & Matt because they had the most wonderful celebration with everyone. They got ready apart, and then we did couples portraits in the rainy weather with umbrellas! I actually ended up LOVING the vibe of the photos. I’m such a fan of going with whatever is happening on your day, and embracing the moment. And that’s exactly what these two did.
Before their Minnesota Lakeside Wedding I asked them how they met. They said they connected originally on a dating app & quickly met up for coffee. Julia was immediately drawn to him when he accidentally spilled coffee on her right away. Haha. It was so endearing, she was hooked. Matt said he was smitten by her eyes and couldn’t stop thinking about them afterwards. They talked the afternoon away and quickly decided to go out again.
The rest was history!
I also asked them their favorite memory of each other was, and they both recalled a trip they took where everything went WRONG on a hike together. Julia twisted her ankle, Matt carried her but he was coming down with something, and ended up throwing up. They had to stop in the middle of nowhere and pitch a tent. They both said that in that moment, they looked at each other and knew they had found their person to do life with. Matt specifically said he remembers thinking, “yep…this is perfect forever”.
If that’s not the sweetest story, I don’t know what is!
Matt chose to revisit hiking for his proposal plans. Luckily this hike was a lot smoother and he popped the question at the Summit. Julia said YES! And that’s what led us to their Minnesota Lakeside wedding!!
